First Chinese New Year

My baby celebrated his first Chinese New Year just after 2.5 months of age. Coincidently at stroke of midnight, he woke up for his feed and we took the opportunity to give him his first "ang pow". Here's the photo of him with his "big ang pow".

Happy Being Confined

I stayed at Sunrise during my confinement period for 1 month after delivery. For me, the stay is quite enjoyable as we get to share jokes and parenting information with all the mothers that stayed in the centre as well. Another plus is that there's an ex-nurse working there as well, so she is able to give valuable tips especially for new mothers on what to do. The ex-nurse is also the one that gives funny nicknames to all babies so that they are able to identify them should the parents brought them back to revisit the caretakers and nannies. I'm not sure why, but the nickname given to my child is "Attap Chee" as in attap seed.

Here's the group photo of all the babies that stayed in the centre during November 2008 month. Guess which one is my William :)

First Day Into the World

Finally I have some free time to download the pictures from my camera (I let my mom take care of my baby for the night :P). Here's some of the shots taken on the day that my precious William is born.

Sleepless Nights

We are having many sleepless nights ever since the baby is back in our house after confinement. It seems that the baby biological timeclock goes haywire. He sleeps throughout the day and do not want to sleep at night. We tried to make him awake during the day but it seems that he was so sound asleep that whatever we do did not bother him. At night, he could stay up for many hours and both of us need to always try many methods to make him sleep or not crying.

The worse case that happened was when he was wide awake from 8pm till 5am. Since my husband need to work the next day, I had to manage the baby on my own from midnight onward. I only had 2 hours sleep before he wake up again for his morning bath and feed etc. With the cleaning and washing and feeding during the day, I started to having headaches after few occasions.

Many people that we talked too says that this usually ends when the baby reaches 3rd month. I really hope it does that I won't be able to manage if this goes on when I started working.
